Is Canik Mete worth it?

I’m thinking about getting a Canik Mete SFT and I have been reading about it, but so far there's mostly just worry and doubt. How do you all feel about Canik in terms of performance compared to established brands like SIG or Walther? Has anyone put them through heavy use or testing they can share about?

The Canik Mete SFT is worth it for a lot of people, but it depends what you value. If you want a good trigger feel and a solid range pistol for the money, many owners are happy. If your priority is the longest track record and the most established support ecosystem, SIG and Walther still have that advantage.

I get the hesitation, but you know that Caniks are the primary sidearm for Turkish Special Forces and police. These aren't just budget guns, they are built to NATO specs.

I’ve seen world-class shooters put tens of thousands of rounds through these in competition with zero issues. so, no doubt it's worth it

Appreciate that. That’s actually reassuring to hear. I’m not expecting it to replace a duty SIG, but if it can handle heavy rounds and competition use, that says a lot for the price point.

As far as I know, the value is insane. you’re getting a trigger that beats most Sigs and Walthers out of the box for hundreds less. People call them budget guns, but the performance is top tier

probably you should go to any local USPSA match and count how many Canik Rivals or METEs you see.

Competition shooters are the most heavy users out there, and they’ve flocked to Canik because the reliability is boringly consistent. The METE SFT is built for duty, so it’s a bit more ruggedized than the Rival

Did you know the original CaniK TP9 was based off the Walther p99? Some of the parts will even interchange.
