Anyone running a Canik for carry?

I'll be straight, when I first got my TP9SF I wasn't sure I'd carry it. The brand recognition thing messes with your head a little. When I told people I was carrying a Canik, I got a few raised eyebrows from guys who'd never shot one. But after 1,200 rounds without a single malfunction I started asking myself what more I needed. Now I carry my Elite SC daily and I don't think about the brand at all. For people who carry Canik, how did you get there mentally? And what round count or experience was the tipping point for you?

For me, reliability matters more than the logo on the slide. If a pistol has a solid round count, runs my carry ammo without issues and I shoot it well, that's what builds confidence. At some point the gun earns its reputation with you, regardless of what others think.

A lot of people hit that same brand confidence hurdle, especially with Canik not having the same long U.S. history as Glock or SIG. In practice though, once you’ve got a solid round count with no issues and you’ve run it in different conditions, that mental barrier usually fades pretty quickly.

That's true but reputation matters for a reason. A pistol can run flawlessly for a few thousand rounds and still lack the decades-long track record that gives some people confidence in established brands.

I hit 800 rounds on my TP9 before I stopped counting failures because there weren't any. Brand snobbery fades fast when the gun just keeps running every single range trip without complaining.
