So I picked up the Rival Darkside a few months back thinking I'd run it in Limited or Production but I've been getting confused reading the rulebooks. The factory ported barrel and compensator seem to push it toward Open but I know some guys run non-ported versions in Production. Anyone here running a Rival variant in a USPSA match legally? What division are you in and what setup are you using? I'd hate to get to a match and find out my gun's in the wrong class..

If it has holes in the barrel, congratulations, you’ve pre-registered for Open whether you meant to or not.

I've never heard of a factory Rival that is ported or comped from the factory. Did they make them that way at one point? The slide has lightening cuts, but no corresponding ports in the barrel (on any I've read of or on mine). Not saying they didn't come that way at one point, just curious.

You’re right, no factory ports on mine either. I must’ve confused it with an aftermarket setup
