Canik triggers

I previously owned a Canik TP9SF and thought it was a fantastic shooter right out of the box, especially the trigger. I later picked up a METE SFx and was impressed again, including all the extras that come with it. I keep seeing people immediately swap out the trigger, and I honestly wonder why. For those who have done it, what improvement were you actually looking for?

A lot of Canik TP9SF and METE SFx trigger swaps are chasing small changes, not fixing a bad trigger. People want a flatter shoe shape, a different break feel, or a shorter reset they can feel faster. Some also want a lighter pull, even if the stock one is already good.

As are all things pistols are a matter of individual choice... as are the modifications thereto. I am a trigger monster! All my long guns have aftermarket 3.5lb single stage triggers, if they did not come with an "Accu-rigger". That includes all my AR-based long guns, because the accu-triggers are factory installed on my bolt action rifles. I'm with you on this, Primo! I cannot understand why anybody would not be happy with a short-stroke, short-reset, <4lb trigger on a CANIK pistol. The trigger, match grade barrel and factory Cerakote is what got me into CANIK pistols, and I have never had reason to regret my choice. My next pistol will be a CANIK 10mm...rumor has it they have them in production, so that is if they ever get off their butts and start shipping to the US!

I agree totally. I've owned three canik (TP9 SFX, Combat Elite and MC9 Prime) and never changed the trigger in any of them. Beside some Walther pistols, the Most Canik Triggers are great out of the box.

I put a short stroke, flat faced trigger on my TP9V2. Being an early CaniK the trigger was a little long and I liked the thought of a flat faced trigger.
