Just picked up a new PRIME.....not really happy yet

Just bought a new PRIME this afternoon. I've owned several Caniks and competed with them. Their triggers were great out of the box (better after adding the Freedomsmith unit). The trigger on this particular PRIME is NOT what I expected. The takeup is far too long, and the trigger pull is 6# even. NOT what I was looking for. already ordered a new FS trigger to cut back on the takeup. More tuning to follow I'm sure.

Freedomsmith en route, Sprinco trigger spring kit to follow. Haven't decided on recoil system since i haven't shot it yet.

Oh, Freedomsmith will definitely get that sorted. My Rival had the exact same issue with that long, heavy trigger pull. An aftermarket trigger completely changed it. It just seems like Canik's premium quality control can be a bit of a crapshoot sometimes.
