Retired Military, avid shooter/collector, owning a newly acquired Canik Rival SFX (poly) with mounted O Sight C RDS.

Had FTF problems new right out of the box. At least one round in either mag would FTF having to slap the slide forward to seat the round. After inspecting the internals, I noticed a blemish towards the top of the feed ramp where it looked like the rounds were hitting & not feeding completely. Using a Dremel tool I buffed/polished the feed ramp using Flitz compound & a felt tip bit. Only going into the barrel chamber ever so slightly, & buffing the feed ramp to a mirror finish, the blemish disappeared. Along with a "High" power upgraded "Red" recoil assembly that Canik sent me at no cost my pistol runs smooth with no issues whatsoever. Canik's customer service took care of my issue except for the applied rebate I still haven't received, which they are aware of but yet to respond to my inquiry. Running an O Sight C RDS the pistol performs outstanding just like my Walther pistols as well. My second "Turkish" pistol purchased besides my Girsan Witness 2311 Brat, very happy with the other two pistols besides my 6 Walther pistols.

After contacting Canik about the overdue rebate, they sent me a rebate tracker web address. Now I can check its progress but according to their statement must allow up to 10 weeks for payment.

Once the FTF issues were solved & I got the O Sight SE RDS dialed in it ranks right up there with my other pistols. I received my $75 rebate a few weeks later. So happy with it I just recently purchased the Mete MC9 Prime MO4. Canik upgraded the stippling above the mag release button where your thumb rides. That's something I wish they did on the Rival SFX (Poly), but they may do that on future release because of its popularity, making hand control better & more aggressive. The MO4 RDS being a closed emitter is perfect as an EDC CC pistol especially for my aging eyesight. One more trip to my indoor range to get the MO4 dialed in. Currently owning 5 top end Walther pistols, two Caniks, a Girsan Witness 2311 Brat, & two pistol caliber carbines my pistol inventory is top notch & complete. But then Canik is introducing their new "Prime Radian" this year, so we will have to wait & see if it spurs my interest as well. KG.

Pew-pews are hard on the bank account, aren't they? Picked up 3 Caniks in the last 3-4 months and a Tavor and built a new AR just before that, my CC is crying. Still, always looking for the next one. How do you like the 2011 vs the Canik? I've been eying the new LFA Apollo 11 V2. Can't decide between that and a Shadow 2 as the next one. Or an IWI Zion-25 in 6.5.

The 2011 you are referring to is actually a Girsan 2311. 2011 is a trademark patented by Staccato, thus Girsan having to use 2311 nomenclature. Their Brat for the quality, design, & shooting characteristics, is top notch compared to others in its class. Its price point is a draw as well, even with a RDS I have less than $900 invested. Price a Staccato or like 2011's adding optics & see what your $4000-6000 gets you. I can't really give you an answer as to comparing the Brat to a Canik because they are in two different classes altogether. The Canik Mete MC9 Prime w/MO4 may be a little lighter & have less of a concealment signature, but I enjoy shooting/carrying both of them. I guess it comes down what trips your trigger on any given situation. Lately I have been EDC CC my Walther PDP Compact Professional ACRO & I can tell you Walthers "Professional ACRO series are the cream of the crop compared to some of the ones you mentioned above. But their price points aren't cheap by any means. KG.
