What 9mm ammo should I get?

Hi everyone. I'm really new to this and just bought my first 9mm pistol, a Canik TP9 Elite Combat. I haven't even picked up ammo yet, and I'm not sure what to look for or what to avoid.

I've heard 115 grain is common and works fine, but some people say 124 grain or even +P is better. I'm not looking for anything fancy — I just want something reliable for range time that won't cause malfunctions.

Also, does the brand matter? Should I stick to brass or is coated ammo okay?

Thanks in advance for any help. I'm trying not to get overwhelmed, just want to find something that works well for a beginner.

I start with 115 gr for about 100 to 150 rounds. Next I'll go up to 124 gr. I'll put 115 gr in one mag then 124 gr in another one. After about 300 to 400 rounds I'll try some HP ammo.

I shoot brass most of the time.
