Mc9L trigger swap issue

Hi there!
Was trying to install a
Canik flat face enhanced 90° trigger
Mmac-066
to my mc9L, however it seems like it doesn't actually fit properly.. basically the trigger shoe safety is permanently engaged behind the frame of the pistol rendering it completely useless as a safety, as shown in the photo.
Did I purchase the wrong trigger?
Looking on the internet plenty of people have installed a trigger that is apparently identical to this one to a mete mc9 platform. Im a little confused.

That red safety blade sitting pinned behind the frame like that definitely does not look like it is doing its job. Frustrating when a swap that is supposed to be a straight drop in turns into a fitment fight instead. Did this happen right out of the gate on the first install attempt or did something shift once you started seating it in?
