Greetings, I am a 65 yo casual shooter living in the Metro Atlanta north area. I only own a couple of pistols two .22 rifles and a bolt action hunting rifle. Just want to see what the current Buzz is on the CANiK lines. I own TP9V2 with a flat trigger and some spring changes. I was thinking about trading it for a SFT.

Welcome! The SFT is a nice step up if you like the Canik trigger but want a little more refinement and capacity. If you can, try handling one first. It may fit your hand better than the TP9V2.

The V2 does have 18+1 capacity and can use the extended magazines.

The METE SFT is an excellent choice for range and CC. Witha weight below two pounds (1.74lb) unloaded, it is comfortable to carry on your belt or ITP, even with 147gr ammo. Last I knew, all CANIK pistols have a Cerakote finish, a Match Grade barrel, and remakable triggers. All features that you don't normally find on pistols under $750. I love my CANIKS, and I own an early TP9Sfx, and a more recent METE SFT. Had CANIK's been available in 1985, I would not own any Glocks!

The early ones were not cerakote finish. The V2 is a great gun. I just thought I might trade it since I cannot really afford a second pistol. The newer ones don’t seem to have as stiff of a return spring as mine. So, I am on the fence .
