Canik TP9SFx break in

I just bought a cool Canik TP9SFx and I'm dying to take it to the range this weekend.
I know these are notorious for being oversprung and usually need a steady diet of 124g NATO rounds to break them in, but with the way ammo is right now, I can only find Winchester 115g. Is there anything I can do to keep the FTE to a minimum while using the lighter stuff?

You can still have a good first range day with the Canik TP9SFx on Winchester 115g. A lot of people stress about break in and then the gun runs better than expected. Keep expectations simple for the first session, bring more mags than you think you need, and if you get a few FTE early, do not spiral. Track what happens by mag and round count, it helps you see if it is improving as the session goes.

if you want a long term fix, you need to replace the recoil spring. Contact Canik customer service and request a lighter spring, or purchase an aftermarket kit, like DPM or SprinCo

Just wanna tell you that before you buy anything, lock the slide back and leave it in the safe for 48 hours. It helps compress that stiff factory spring just enough to let 115gr cycle a bit smoother without the extra cost

Try loading up your magazines and leaving them for a few days. Just noticed on my new (today) STF Pro Stingray how hard it is to load a new, full mag with the slide down-and noticed a lot of friction/drag when it tried to strip a round and chamber it. I don't notice that with my other Caniks. I expect they were the same when new but wasn't really paying attention.
