Can't wait to get this out to the range and put 100 rounds down range. I did pick up an extra 15 round mag.

Nice. That Canik METE MC9 case looks like it came ready with the mags and tools. Are you planning to keep it stock for a while, or thinking about an optic later. Either way, 100 rounds will tell you a lot fast.

I like the extra 15 rounder, smart move. The MC9 is great, but that 12 round flush mag can feel pretty fancy for some. Did you get the newer version of the 15 round mag (the one with the full grip sleeve)?

Clean setup. That Canik METE MC9 case with the kit looks satisfying. Extra mag is clutch. Are you keeping it stock for now, or already thinking about a dot or different sights later?

it looks glowing @Coz ! Just wanna tell you that before you head out, do a quick check of the striker channel. Caniks often ship with some heavy packing grease in there to prevent rust during sea travel
Make sure that channel is clean and dry. If there's oil or grease in there, it can slow the pin down and give you light strikes

That's good to know, thanks. I always clean and lube a new gun before first use, but did not specifically clean the striker channel.

That Canik MC9 case setup always looks so satisfying brand new, haha. What are you shooting first, slow groups or just ripping a few mags to break it in. And which 15 round mag did you grab, OEM or something else.

The first range trip was not like I hopped for. After about 25 rounds it started having issues. The slide stopped short about 1/4 of an inch. Also getting FTF. Rounds getting stuck. A few times it would go click and not fire. I contacted Canik and they recommend breaking it in with 124g NATO spec ammo for at least 300 rounds. They also said they are sending out a heavier recoil assembly. I have received the new part and have not had the time to install it. I am waiting for the NATO spec ammo to be delivered. Some is on backorder and some is on the way.

I had similar issues with my Rival SFX (POLY). A combination of buffing the feed ramp & inner chamber throat with a Dremel felt tip & Flitz compound removed any issues with the feed ramp where rounds were not seating correctly. Once the ramp had a mirror like finish, & all blemishes gone the pistol ran better. Also adding the "High Power Red " recoil guide rod assembly from Canik helped as well. Now she runs flawlessly. Much worth the as the pistol is a top-notch shooter comparable to some of my Walther pistols. I run 115, 124, & 147 grain loads with no issues after the above-mentioned fixes. KG.

I did receive the recoil guide rod and it is red from Canik. I have some 9mm Nato rounds on the way to use as Canik customer support said to use for break in.

The feed ramp is like a mirror already. I'll take it back to the range next when the ammo gets here.

Range trip # 4. Now I have fired about 430+ rounds. 300 NATO rounds.
First mag all rounds fired (12)
Mag 2 had 2 rounds left when it failed to fire. Racked the slide and they fired.
Mag 3 had three rounds left. Racked the slide and the last two fired.
Mag 4 had two left FTF. Racked the slide and the last round fired.
Mag 5 had three rounds left. Racked the slide and the last two fired.
Mag 6 had six left racked the slide and then FTF with 2 rounds left
Put mag 6 in with 8 rounds and FTF with 2 rounds left
Mag 1 put 12 rounds and racked the slide I felt the slide click before I fired. Then FTF with 4 left
Added oil to slide
Put 8 rounds mag 1 FTF on round 4 racked the slide and one round then FTF
Mag 2 with 15 rounds and FTF on 14
Put 7 rounds in mag 2 FTF on round 2 racked the slide put the round back in the mag and FTF after 1 round FTF racked the slide and FTF after 1 round.
Almost another 80 rounds today. All mags are Canik. 2=12 rounds and 4=15 rounds

Really not happy with this pistol. It is the only simi-auto doing this.
